Urban Wood Rescue Program Manager, Sacramento Tree Foundation (Sacramento, CA)

The Program Manager, under the direction of the Director of Urban Forest Renewal, will oversee: the supply of logs, milling, buyer relationships/sales, and the development of educational/outreach events that increase demand for Sacramento wood. The Executive Director will serve as an advisor and provide guidance to the Program Manager.

The Urban Wood Rescue Program Manager will complete these major projects over the next year: a business plan, market analysis, significant outreach in the local wood industry, branding and website development, formal agreements with our partners, the development of the milling yard and yard operation policies that meet industry standards, and more.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree helpful, not required

EXPERIENCES, SKILLS, and ATTRIBUTES DESIRED:

  • Started an innovative business or developed a new program
  • Jumped into an overwhelming project and succeeded
  • Community development
  • Market analysis
  • Spreadsheets, formulas and budgeting
  • Gave presentations and led meetings
  • Communications, including press and social media
  • Managed a large grant

TEMPERMENT/SOFT SKILLS DESIRED:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will supervise volunteers, interns and contract employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is an at-will, full-time, and exempt position. This position is housed at the Sacramento Tree Foundation’s office and nearby urban wood rescue yard.

SALARY:

Dependent upon experience.
